- Nigerians require a Valid Visa to visit Suriname.
- The passport must have a minimum validity of six months from the date of expected arrival at Suriname.
- The maximum amount of cash/currency that you are allowed to carry to Suriname is $10,000 or equivalent.
- The Government of Suriname has made it mandatory for travellers to submit proof of Yellow Fever Vaccination if they are travelling from a country with a risk of yellow fever. Nigeria does not carry any risk of yellow fever, but if you are travelling from another country that carries such a risk, then you must be vaccinated against yellow fever.
- If you are travelling to Suriname for business purposes then must obtain a Business Visa in advance of your visit.
- It is not mandatory to be vaccinated against the covid 19 to visit the country. But if you are not vaccinated you will need to complete some other formalities(mentioned below).

COVID RELATED REQUIREMENTS
If you are planning to visit the Republic Of Suriname, you must fulfil the COVID-related requirements and follow the guidelines issued by the Sumerian Government. The Government of Sumeria encourages travellers and citizens alike to get vaccinated against the covid 19, but it has not made it mandatory for tourists and foreign nationals to be vaccinated.
There are different requirements for vaccinated and unvaccinated travellers.
Requirements for Unvaccinated Travelers
If you are not unvaccinated or not vaccinated by a vaccine that is not approved by the Suriname government, then you need to provide some extra documents and conduct a few more formalities.
If you have not been vaccinated you will need to provide any one of the following documents;
- A negative PCR test report
If you are unvaccinated, you will need to present a negative PCR test report that is not older than 48 hours.
- A Rapid Antigen Test Report
Report of rapid antigen test that has been conducted not more than 24 hours before the presentation to the respective authority.
- A Recovery Certificate
You will not need to present any sort of report if you have a Covid Recovery certificate that ensures that you have recovered from the infection not more than 180 days before arriving at Suriname.
Note: Children below 12 years of age are not required to fulfil these requirements.

Guidelines for Vaccinated travellers
If a traveller has been vaccinated by Covid Vaccines Fully Approved by the Suriname Authorities, then they can travel to Suriname without presenting many documents or reports. Such travelers only need to present a Vaccination Certificate.
Vaccines approved by Suriname Government are:
- Pfizer
- Covishield
- Covilo
- Moderna
- AstraZeneca / Oxford Formulation
The above-mentioned vaccines are the vaccines fully approved by the Sumerian Government. But there are other vaccines as well which are Partially Accepted by Suriname Authorities. They are:
- Soberana 1
- Soberana 2
- Soberana plus
- Abdala
- Sputnik
The travellers vaccinated by these vaccines need to provide some more documents along with the vaccination certificate, which are:
- A rapid antigen test report conducted 3 days after arrival in Suriname
- A pre-arrival PCR test result that is not older than 48 hours upon arrival at Suriname.
